A performance increase for the uC5282 product line planned for Q3, 2007 has successfully completed quality control testing and the product is available for ordering.
The performance increase is the result of the availability of an 80MHz MCF5282 ColdFire processor from Freescale® Semiconductor. Existing products using the standard 64MHz MCF5282 ColdFire processor will remain available with no lifecycle status change. Two 80MHz product part numbers are initially available for ordering; uC52824E16C80-XR and uC528216E16C80-XR Alternate configurations may be available upon request. All parts subject to availability.
Migration of Existing ApplicationsThe performance increase represents minimal changes to hardware and software. It is expected that customers using the 64MHz versions of this product may take advantage of the enhanced performance 80MHz version with no impact to their hardware existing design. The 64MHz uC52824E16C64 will remain in full production.
