Arcturus Announces Motorola Based Extended Temperature Industrial Controller Product Line

TORONTO, CANADA - November 19, 2002 — Arcturus Networks Inc. a leading innovator of embedded firmware and hardware solutions today announced a line of industrial temperature range versions of the popular uCdimm family of OEM microcontroller modules. Arcturus uCdimm EXT modules feature industrial temperature components designed to withstand extreme operating conditions between -40 to +85°C (non-condensing). These modules are ideal for devices in extreme climates, remote locations or harsh industrial environments.
About the uCdimm Family
uCdimm products are cost-effective alternatives to roll-your-own solutions and feature rapid product integration and improved time-to-market. With broad functionality and connectivity options uCdimm modules are ideal for various vertical markets including Industrial Controls and Building Automation. Each uCdimm module is equipped with the industry standard uClinux embedded operating system and features a business card sized 144pin soDIMM form factor. Arcturus uCdimm modules are feature-rich, complete embedded systems and have been deployed world-wide in applications ranging from industrial scale controllers to building access devices.

The uCdimm ColdFire 5272 EXT is the first in the extended temperature product line and features: 4MB Flash ROM, 8MB SDRAM, 10/100BaseT Ethernet with optional second 10BaseT Ethernet, QSPI queued high speed serial, GPI/O, uClinux™ embedded operating system and a single cycle multiply / accumulate (MAC) engine for DSP.

The uCdimm ColdFire 5272 is currently available in standard temperature range. The uCdimm ColdFire 5272 EXT with extended temperature parts is ready to order with delivery varying on volume.
